There are as many questions on the legality of online poker and the number of strategies a player can use in it. It could be a yes, it could be a no, it could depend on the situation, or it could be perhaps. That is because there is no policy or rule that precedes the issue of online gaming and, thus, the law was unable to spell it out if gambling is legal or not. This results to the issue being left to legal entities, technical persons, common people and their respective biases.
The Risk Involved
Basically, players are safe from legal prosecution, as long as they remain players and puts money in the casino in terms of bankroll and not in the form of investment, stocks or capital loans, or by other means like collecting debts and other fees from co-players. The government is hell-bent on prosecuting organized crime syndicates that acts as operators of casinos and poker rooms that uses the establishment to launder money that came from illegal activities. So far, no online poker has been charged, tried in court, penalized or jailed for simply playing online poker. There are millions of players worldwide, and no one has been prosecuted or jailed for it.
